WELDING

This Career Studies Certificate program is designed to provide entry-level skills as a beginning welder.

MACHINE

TOOL

Upon satisfactory completion of the curriculum, the graduate will be awarded a Diploma in Machine Tool. The purpose of this curriculum is to develop machinists and machinist trainees who are able to skillfully convert the engineer’s blueprint into a precision part.

HEALTH

SCIENCES

This program is designed to accommodate those desiring to enter the Centra College of Nursing Program. Credit earned in this program can be transferred to most four-year colleges and the Allied health care programs. This program earns students a Certificate in Health Sciences.

CYBER

SECURITY

Upon completion of this program, students receive a Career Studies Certificate. This program is designed to add credentials and improve job skills for future information 

technology professionals.

EMT/

PARAMEDIC

Upon completion of this program, students receive a Career Studies Certificate. This program prepares students with entry-level skills to advance, if desired, to higher levels of EMS certification including Paramedic. CVCC offers an AAS degree in Emergency Medical Services-Paramedic.

CRIMINAL

JUSTICE

This program provides a broad overview of the profession for those students seeking employment in the field. Upon completion of the program, students receive a Career Studies Certificate.

HVAC

Upon completion of this program, students receive a Career Studies Certificate. This program prepares students with entry-level skills to enter the high demand industry of Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning.

The July 2018 Occupational Overview from Emsi (economicmodeling.com), shows job growth in welding, machinist and cyber security in Central Virginia from 2017 to 2018. Nationally, Cyber Security is predicted to be a major growth career for the future and demand for people with education in welding, machine tool, and HVAC jobs is expected to remain strong.
