Campbell County high school seniors can earn free college credits and take the first steps towards a trade certificate through this dual-enrollment program. Program offerings include administration of justice, early childhood education, health sciences, emergency medicine, HVAC, information technology, machine technology, mechatronics and welding.

ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE prepares students to enter careers in criminal justice, corrections, forensic science, emergency management, local and state law enforcement, procedural reporting and loss prevention. The curriculum is designed to provide a broad educational foundation. For students already working in the criminal justice field, the curriculum provides preparation for advancement. Learning methodologies are industry and community based with an emphasis in hands-on, real-life approaches that create awareness of social and community issues in an effort to improve quality of life.
EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT prepares individuals for employment in the care and education of young children. Program content aligns with Virginia’s Core Competencies for Early Childhood Professionals, Virginia’s Early Learning and Development Standards as well as the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s Professional Preparation Standards.


EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES is for students who seek to become entry-level paramedics. Upon completion of the Associate of Applied Science program, students are eligible for National Registry testing and certification in Virginia. Employment parlays to ambulance, fire and rescue services, hospitals, government departments, sales and humanitarian relief organizations.
HEALTH SCIENCE prepares students for entry into many health science programs of study. In-class knowledge is balanced with practical, hands-on training and an internship. It serves the needs of students interested in further study in allied health professions including the delivery of health and nursing programs.


HVAC provides skills in heating and air conditioning. Upon completion, students will possess advanced skills in electricity, circuits, controls and heat pumps to obtain employment as entry-level installers or service assistants.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY offers knowledge in software, web design, programming and practical IT considerations for office and technical staff. Upon completion, students may seek careers as software specialists, IT management trainees, website developers, help desk specialists, entry-level programmers or other IT professional positions.


MACHINE TOOL prepares students to become highly skilled operators of manufacturing machines and tools. Upon completion, the student may become a skilled machinist or machinist trainee.
MECHATRONICS is designed for those who want to pursue a career in advanced manufacturing. It combines content from mechanics, electronics, robotics and computer-related subjects. In class, knowledge is balanced with practical, hands-on training such as assembly, test and trouble-shooting. Students earn four industry certifications.


WELDING is designed for students who seek skills as a beginning welder. They may pursue employment as a welder, metal fabricator or work in welding layout.
